Realized I never reported back!! This was a well crafted sincere love letter to your family. I can tell how much thought you put into the design and cinematography and the editing. I think the lead actress did a great job portraying a conflicted daughter, and the send off looks like it meant well. Congratulations and cheers to your next one. We as a Substackers who make work should continue to promote and celebrate and be the change we want to see.
Thank you so much I appreciate you taking the time to watch and come back and comment. And yes we should be the change we want to see and I look forward to seeing where you guys take the Label and how we all can help build the future of NonDē!
Really enjoyed it, Amanda! Sarah's actions being about her as much as her mother, as you note in your own IRL inspiration, came across clear as day. We see her fixation on small details through her work as a gallery curator, and now she's using that to address whatever chaos her mother left behind; maybe the mother needed someone to do that for her.
Thank you so much. This really means a lot coming from you, someone whose take on film I admire. I appreciate you taking the time to watch this and share this.
Thanks for the shoutout Amanda! Watching today and will report back :)
